The Riviera Maya is coming back to life. After an uncertain few months, this sublime destination, usually full of color, music, and flavors, is now ready to finish this year and welcome the new one with exciting festivals and all sorts of events.

Unsurprisingly, the spotlight is in Tulum, famous for its world-class art scene, fantastic beaches, and even better nightlife. After a period of uncertainty, we can happily announce that some of the most awaited events, including New Year’s Eve parties, will be happening, making this charming town the place to be this holiday season.

Art With Me, arguably the most important art, music, gastronomy, and culture festival in the region, is going forward, and we are excited to see what this year’s edition has in store. Wellness workshops, music performances, impressive art installations, and local and international cuisine will all be part of the 5-day festival that will take place in Tulum between November 11th and 15th.

The world-renowned event, which has been labeled “a mix between Burning Man and Art Basel”, will feature happenings and activities for all ages, from children-focused art experiences to concerts and electronic music parties, with a line up that includes performers such as Anthony Middleton and Camilo Nu. All of this, framed by white sand beaches and the magical turquoise of the Caribbean.

Who’s ready for 2021?

Tulum will also be the perfect spot to welcome 2021. On New Year’s Eve, the jungle will burst life and music thanks to the Zamna Festival, one of the most prestigious electronic music parties on the planet. Last January, artists like Diplo and Paul Kalkbrenner lit up ten unforgettable nights. And although this year will be slightly different, the atmosphere is guaranteed to be as epic as always.

The event will kick off on January 31st with an Opening Party at Mia Beach Club and continue on January 4th and 6th with concerts featuring DJs Boris Brejcha, Ann Clue, Artbat, and Luciano, among many others. In between dates, there is plenty of time to explore nearby cenotes or simply relax by the sea.

Other venues will also join the festivities with their own events. For instance, Papaya Playa Project, one of Tulum’s best-known hotels, will host a beach dinner with live performances on New Year’s Eve, followed by a New Year’s Wellness Day the morning after. These are part of their winter calendar, which goes from December 26th until January 16th and will be announced in full in the days to come.

Regardless of what you’re looking for this winter, Tulum will be one of the best places to spend it. Relax in an authentic paradise, marvel at local art and culture, and welcome the new year in high spirits. If you want a fresh start for 2021, this is where to find it.
