The annual Sacred Mayan Journey is an opportunity to participate in an authentically recreated Mayan ritual that involves dancing, music and a canoe ride. Trained oarsmen lead participants through the ancient rituals that are meant as an offering to Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of the moon, tides, fertility, childbirth and pregnancy. The two day journey begins on May 20th at Xcaret, continues on the island of Cozumel and ends on May 21st back at Xcaret.
